What everyone asks before installing.
Is it safe?
Yes. HarnessUp uses the official Anthropic and OpenAI hooks, with no proxy, no API interception and no heavy MCP. It runs 100% on your machine and nothing leaves it.
Does it read my token or my key?
Never. It runs the official claude and codex with your account and does not read, store or pass on any token or key. Secret Lock still masks passwords before they enter the conversation.
Does it work for API users?
It does, and that's where the savings show the most: what stops being sent stops being charged on the month's invoice.
Do I need to know my way around the terminal?
No. There's a Windows installer and a panel with over 200 one-click keys, all reversible with another click.
Will it slow my agent down?
The measured latency budget stays under 50 ms at p95, with a hard 2 s timeout. If something takes a while, the agent keeps going. It doesn't freeze.
